Genesis 50: 19-20
But Joseph said to them,  Do not fear, for am I in the place of God?  20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but  God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

Many of us go through trials and times of difficulty.  It is not always easy and many of us lose hope.  Joesph was a man that went through many trials and suffering.  If you are not familiar with Joesph’s life let me just share a few things he went through.  When Joesph was a boy he was nearly killed by his brothers, thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, separated from his family, lied about, mistreated, and finally thrown into prison.  Joesph was all to familiar of what it meant to suffer.  More than that Joesph trusted God and stayed faithful God through every trial.  The story didn’t end with Joesph in prison but it ends with him saving all the people of the land from starvation.  He was also placed second in command of all Egypt and blessed greatly by God.  This scripture comes at the end of Joesph’s life and his brothers are scared that Joesph will take out revenge on them for what they did to him.  If any one had the right to take revenge it was Joesph.  However Joesph recognized that God was in control through it all and that God had a purpose.

Did you know that God has a purpose and plan for your life?  Many of us will go through trials and difficulties that seem like they will never end.  You may be going through something difficult right now.  Did you ever think that you are right where God wants you?  Did you ever consider the storm of life that is rushing over you right now is God’s plan?  You may not realize it now but when evil presses against you and all hope seems to be lost, God is at work.  One day that suffering will turn to joy and you will see that what others intended for evil God intends for good.  Keep holding on to God and trusting him.  We are strong in God and we will overcome by his grace and love.
